Weaving in Term 2

Lisa came and showed us some of her weaving out of Harakeke.  She told us a flax bush is just like a whanau and that we need to only cut the outside flax(grandparents).

We are going to be making a fish and star out of flax in Week 1 and 2.

Let Mrs Eaton know if you can help out on a Thursday afternoon from 1.40pm

New Kerb for School

On Wednesday near the end of the day we went out the school gate and saw the concrete mixer going around and around.  The concrete went down the chute to the blue box, the blue box made the shape of the kerb.  It looks pretty fancy.  We can't wait until it dries and we can park there again.

Water Conservation

Mrs Stivens came from Masterguard this morning.  She talked to us about how we get water and how the water cycle works.  We had some great ideas about how to save water.  Here are some of them:

1.Put a bucket beside you in the shower and use that water in the garden.

2. Don't spend too long in the shower.

3. Put a bucket out to collect rain water and save it for the garden

And lastly, it's a good idea to have a water timer so you don't leave your garden hoses on too long.

Assembly Certificates

On Friday Will got his certificate for his extra efforts in spelling and maths.

Lela got hers for getting faster at her basic facts.

Well done, keep up that fantastic effort!

GOLDEN TIME

Golden time happens on a Friday afternoon, we get to go out for around 45 minutes to a chosen activity if we've had a really well behaved week.  We all achieved this this week.  Here's some pics of a couple of our activities:

Madison and Lela enjoyed getting out PE gear and making up
their own game.
