Lunchtime Cricket

At lunchtime Austin and Riley from Room 13 do cricket at the Hampstead School Cricket pitch.  They do bowling and hitting and have a game.  They help other kids who haven't play cricket before.  Will went out and took this photos one lunchtime.

ANZAC ASSEMBLY

On Friday we had our Anzac Assembly.  We had a minutes silence to remember those who sacrificed their lives for us in the war.  Lexus took our wreath up for us on behalf of the class.

WEAVING

Today we started our weaving unit.  We said a prayer before we used the flax.  Then Ange(Te Whetu's Mum) showed us how to plait the flax to make it into a headband.  They were a little tricky, but they turned out awesome

Thanks also to Liam's Mum for helping out

DRAWING - ART

We went right down to the back of the field to do some drawing for art.  We spent a long time looking at the shape and different heights of the trees.  Then when we thought we had finished we put some finishing touches on by shading.  We were amazed at the difference a little bit of shading did to our pictures.

Great shading Jack!

Edelma drew the 3 trees
It was a nice, autumn day, leaves were falling and we even
saw butterflies and a sky scraper.  Perfect drawing weather!
Edelma added shading to her art work

Room 11 wins prizes and gets published!

At the end of the term Room 11 were excited because Sera got a prize in the mail!  It was a book from the newspaper Extra that some of us entered our answers for a newspaper scavenger hunt.   Well done Sera!

Will and Liam also got their stories selected to be published in the newspaper.  It was awesome to see their stories in print.  Well done!
